Midway is ideally situated for year-round outdoor fun in the breathtaking Heber Valley. This small community bustles with visitors seeking outdoor thrills in area mountain ranges and experiences at some of Midway’s unique attractions. Attend the annual Swiss Festival and test your yodeling skills, watch the Sheepdog Championships, take a steam engine tour, or set off on your own adventure into the parks and recreation areas.

Boating and Swimming
Deer Creek and Jordanelle Reservoirs provide all kinds of boating and water sports opportunity. Enjoy use of boat ramps, picnic and swimming areas, campgrounds, trails and other amenities.

Fishing
Angling is a popular activity around Midway with great lake fishing at area reservoirs and blue-ribbon trout water on the Provo River.

Scenic Tours
A driving tour is a must-do in this valley. From the town of Midway, try the 7.5 mile journey to Cascade Springs or the bumpier but no less beautiful 7-mile Guardsman Pass tour into the upper Wasatch Mountains.

Steam Train Tour
For vintage fun, journey through Heber Valley on a Heber Valley Railroad steam engine tour.

Festivals and Events
Midway’s Swiss Days feature a parade, music and entertainment, 10k race, food, contests, and of course…yodeling. Thousands of visitors also descend on Midway for the Soldier Hollow Sheepdog Championships. Join the crowd of international dog lovers and see Fido and his pals get put through their paces. Soldier Hollow also hosts the Heber Valley Pow-wow every summer.

Golfing
Several local golf courses offer up challenging greens with the Wasatch Mountains in the background.

Winter

Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing
Soldier Hollow Cross-Country Ski Resort is a paradise for the fan of “skinny skis” and has miles of groomed trails for skiers, snowshoe enthusiasts, and areas for tubers. Get a dose of winter exercise here or attend an event.

Downhill Skiing
Several world-renowned ski resorts are within an hour’s drive from Midway. Grab your skis or snowboard and head to the hills for some challenging runs amidst pristine alpine scenery.

Snowmobiling
Tour the winter wonderland of national forests, parks, and back roads on your snowmobile. Terrain closest to Midway includes trails in Wasatch Mountain State Park.
