Summer Activities & Services

Everyone knows about the renowned beauty of Big Cottonwood Canyon (just one of the many reasons people flock to the resorts located there). Fortunately, not everyone knows that one of the best ways to enjoy it is at Solitude Mountain Resort. From the European-styled village to the sublime hiking trails to the incredible views of pristine wilderness offered from the chair lift, Solitude has everything you need to enjoy summer and none of the crowds that would just get in your way. Biking

A regular stopping point for the Intermountain Cup Mountain Bike Race Series, Solitude provides cross-country oriented mountain bikers with 5.7 miles of singletrack and 7.8 miles of doubletrack that explore the resort area along scenic traverses. Or, if you're looking for a longer ride, use the village and the lifts as an access point to the plethora of trails that explore the pristine Wasatch National Forest. For those who aren't able to bring their two-wheeled friend along with them, Solitude offers a full line of rentals. And, if mountain biking isn't quite your cup of tea but you still want to cruise the hills, Solitude also provides mountain scooters, a less-strenuous way to reawaken your inner child.

Fishing

Once again proving that it is the family-oriented resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude has made it easy to enjoy fishing with your whole family. Stocked with rainbow trout, the Solitude pond is an ideal spot to start your kids fishing, and Big Cottonwood Creek and the Provo River provide scenic spots to make the transition to fishing rivers.

Disc Golf

Along with downhill biking, one of the newest sports to hit mountain resorts has been disc golf. Solitude has embraced this family-friendly sport by creating a beautiful 18-hole course that winds its way down the resort. Disc rentals and lift rides are available.

Club Solitude

Far from what you may expect from the name, Club Solitude gives friends and families yet another great way to enjoy each other's company after a long day of enjoying the mountains. Complete with a theater, pool tables, hot tubs and a pool and special seasonal activities, Club Solitude is one more example of why Solitude is the place to go.

Essentials Spa

Since inner solitude can't be found while your body is tense and sore, the Essentials Spa at Solitude is ready to help you pamper your body once you've tired it out exploring the vibrant wilderness. Whether you need a massage, a facial or help rejuvenating your skin from the winter clime, Essentials can help. And, since it's always better to share an experience, Essentials' double room gives you the opportunity to treat yourself while spending time with an important other.
