Just four miles from Park City's Main Street and eight miles from Deer Valley Resort, Canyons Village completes the Park City trifecta.

Local freeskiers and snowboarders converge on Canyons Village' eight peaks thanks to inexpensive youth, college and industry season passes. The extensive terrain park features, tree-skiing, bowls and bumps provide enough entertainment for any age rider.

Let's talk about Ninety-Nine 90 (named for the 9,990 altitude). You've heard the tales of immense vertical drops, steep chutes, glades, powder and backcountry access. It's all true. Take your pick of any number of black and double black diamond trails from the top.

If Ninety-Nine 90 intimidates you, just relax. Take the new Orange Bubble detachable quad lift from the base and ski the black and blue runs above the Sun Lodge or cruise over to Iron Mountain on the opposite side of the resort for 300 acres of intermediate skiing. There's not a lot of terrain for the beginning skier at Canyons Village unless you love cat tracks, so opt for a lesson to enhance your game.

At the end of the day, slink over to the upscale western-themed The Lift Lounge for cocktails and eats. The bar is open only to members during the day but anyone can enter after 4 p.m. for après. On sunny days, the new Ski Beach between the base terminal of the gondola and the new Bubble lift, will be the guaranteed hotspot.

Location

Take I-80 East from the airport for about 20 minutes and exit at Kimball Junction / Park City. Head south on SR-224 for two miles and take a right at the stop light at The Canyons Resort Drive.

Season/Hours

Canyons Village is open 7 days a week from 8:45am - 4pm beginning in mid-December through the second week of April. Daily summer operations begin in June and extend through Labor Day.

Mountain Services

Canyons Village has a ski school, ski and snowboard rental shop in the Village Plaza, an on-mountain demo center next to the Red Pine Lodge, three on-hill cafeterias and a four-star sit-down Lookout Cabin restaurant.
