Hiking during the summer in Alta is a great way to see the sights and enjoy the outdoors. There is a wide range of available hikes that offer different distances and elevation gains. There is about 10 miles of hiking trails and ski area service roads, all of which have amazing alpine views.

Bikers should be aware that they are sharing the trail with hikers, and therefore the ski area service roads are often a better option. None of these roads or trails are open to motorized vehicles.

The Wasatch Wildflower Festival offers a day of guided walks, live music and food to celebrate the areas 300 varieties of wildflowers. The flowers usually peak around the middle of July.

Alta is also a great location for weddings, conferences and brunches. With lodging, restaurants and business facilities at the base of Alta, it is an easy and picturesque location for any event.
