Getting Here
Getting to Fairmont Hot Springs, BC is very easy whether you're coming from the United States and crossing the border or already live in Canada. It's well worth the trip no matter where your starting destination, as the resort is one of the best ski destinations in the world.
The Fairmont area in general is a favorite location for skiers wanting to experience more than one of British Columbia's great ski centers. Panorama ski area is only 40 minutes to the north. The welcoming Bavarian community of Kimberley offers a ski area located only 60 minutes south of Fairmont. Fernie ski area (the Powder Skiing capital of the Canadian West) is another good choice, and is located just 1.5 hours southwest.
Getting There
The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is located on Hwy 93/95, just 1 ¾ hours north of the Canadian/US border and 3 hours west of Calgary, Alberta. It's nestled in the British Columbia Rockies at the headwaters of the Columbia River. The resort is approximately 140 km (87 miles) north of the Idaho border. Fortunately, next to the resort is a 2,000 meter (6,200 ft.) airport that is equipped to handle private and charter aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 737.
