Canyons Ski Resort
The newest and largest ski resort in Utah is The Canyons. You can find this modern, efficient resort just a mere three miles from Park City Mountain Resort and only thirty-five minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The Canyons offers fantastic skiing and a huge area of skiable acres in the winter and a variety of recreational activities in the summer.
The Canyons was first known as Park West and then referred to as Wolf Mountain. It was a favorite place for locals to get away from the crowds and the tourists who frequented Park City and Deer Valley. Up until 1997, this vast area of regular fresh powder was only accessible by long and often dangerous backcountry skiing.
Since 1997, the area has been sold to a private company and the underutilized snow-filled area has progressed to become one of the largest ski resorts in the United States. With eight different mountains and 3,625 skiable acres, The Canyons offers a diverse terrain that will accommodate and challenge all skiers and snowboarders from the novice to the experienced. The fifth largest ski area in America and the largest in Utah, the resort village also offers luxurious lodging, fine dining, great dining and fantastic entertainment.
When the snow melts and the grass once again turns green, The Canyons come alive with a multitude of summer activities and events. The location is great for enjoying fresh mountain air and warm summer sunshine. Take a gondola ride, experience an awe-inspiring view while on a hike, or enjoy a challenging mountain bike trail.
