Provo Airport

The Provo Municipal Airport is designated a general aviation airport. The airport accommodates all segments of the aviation industry–general aviation, air carrier/air taxi, air cargo, military, corporate, emergency, medical and agricultural users. At this time, however, the Provo Municipal Airport does not have commercial airline service.

Currently, airline passengers wishing to travel to or from Provo, Utah use the commercial flights, which service the Salt Lake City International Airport. Provo is located approximately fifty miles southeast of the Salt Lake City International Airport and ground transportation between the two communities is available.

The City Government of Provo, however, anticipates that in the near future, the Provo Municipal Airport will be developed and expanded to be able to accommodate commercial flights. It is estimated that nearly 20-30 passengers arriving or departing from the Salt Lake City airport each day have Provo as their final destination.

With the increase in businesses in the Provo area, the increase in student enrollment at Brigham Young University, and the anticipated growth in year round population, it is speculated that it will not be too long before commercial airline travel to and from Provo Utah will be a reality. Until then, charter flight and private aircraft are able to take passengers directly into the Provo area.
