Jordonelle Reservoir

Jordanelle Reservoir can be found between Park City Valley and the Heber Valley, near the small community of Kamas, Utah. This picturesque lake resting in the spectacular Wasatch Mountains is a wonderful place to spend a day or week fishing. The lake is so large that it has two main areas, both of which are Utah State Parks.

As one of Utah's most famous waters, Jordanelle Reservoir is a favorite destination location for anglers. Known primarily as a trophy smallmouth bass fishery, the Reservoir also has some good-sized brown trout and good-sized largemouth bass. Perch are so prevalent, that often during the fishing season; the limit for perch from Jordanelle Reservoir is increased. If you are hoping to catch trout, this is a good location for that as well. The Jordanelle Reservoir is the home for cutthroat trout, rainbow trout and brown trout.

The Reservoir is fed by the Provo River, which enters the lake at the east side. Also along the east side is one of the two Utah State Parks – Rock Cliff Recreational Area. The other Utah State Park, the Hailstone Marina is located on the north end of the Reservoir.

In addition to great fishing, the Jordanelle Reservoir is a fantastic place to enjoy many other aquatic activities including boating, swimming and water skiing. Be sure to check with local officials to find out the current regulations concerning all activities.
