Event Details: The Deer Valley Music Festival (DVMF) is Utah Symphony Utah Opera's (USUO's) summer home in the mountain resort town of Park City, Utah. The festival focuses on providing chamber music, classical, opera, and pops offerings in four venues: the Deer Valley
The Utah Symphony began in 1940 and since that time it has become a well-known presence on the American Music Scene. The Symphony is known for its distinctive performances and varied recordings. Maurice Abravanel Hall is noted as one of the world's greatest concert halls – receiving award for its extraordinary acoustics and its architecture. In addition to performing at home in Salt Lake City, the Symphony travels each year throughout the west and plays to audiences in Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho. In 2005, the symphony visited concert halls in Austria and Germany.
The orchestra is also an active participant in at least four productions per year with the Utah Opera. These performances take place at Salt Lake City's Capitol theatre. In addition, the Utah Symphony performs numerous concerts as part of Utah Symphony & Opera's Deer Valley Music Festival, held each summer in the Park City mountain community.
