Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championships

Not far from Park City, Utah – just twenty minutes away, lies Soldier Hollow located in the western foothills of Heber Valley. It is here each year for the past four years; the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championships have taken place. This competition is acclaimed as the foremost trail in the World at the present time.

Dock jumping for dogs is fast becoming one of America's most popular outdoor events! Pets compete for distance, diving from a dock into a 40 foot pool. Contact us at info@soldierhollowclassic.com or call

  Planned improvements for this year's event include:
1.  Demonstrations featuring Police and Military K-9 teams.
2.  A brand new "BOW WOW LUAU," acrobatic dog show.
3.  "Senior shuttle" carts to help seniors and those with special needs.
4.  More food booths to shorten food lines and provide even more variety


The Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championships is generally scheduled to take place over the four days of Labor Day weekend.

Not only is the crowd treated to the sheepdog competition, they are also able to enjoy the K9 Kings Flying Dog Show, Duck Herding (for the urban sheepdog!), Bagpipe Music from the Salt Lake Scots, IFA Country Traditions Courtyard, Kid's Camp, and Great Food.

There is always an assortment of crafts and artisans present who take part in the festival. The event has activities for the entire family. The activities planned just for the kids include animal displays, a coloring contest, and a bounce house. Most of the children's activities are free with some available by a minimal fee.
