The variety of terrain found within the Wasatch Cache National Forest makes the area popular among many outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors will travel from near and far to enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, viewing wildlife, horseback riding, and driving along scenic byways in the warmer months. Snowy months welcome downhill skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the developed ski areas of Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude, and Snowbasin. Also enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing, or snow shoeing.

The name Wasatch-Cache takes on Indian and French meaning. Wasatch, a Ute word, means a "low place in high mountains." Cache is derived from a french word meaning "to hide," referencing the holes that trappers dug to hide their furs. The Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers a great source of recreation, beauty, and history.
