Located near Heber City, Utah, the Jordanelle State Park and Reservoir became a Utah State Park on June 29, 1995. Due to its close proximity to the Wasatch Mountains, the Park and Reservoir provide a diverse array of outdoor recreation opportunities including camping, picnicking, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and mountain biking.
Jordanelle State Park and Reservoir is composed of two state run park facilities – Hailstone Recreation Site and Rock Cliff Recreation Site. The Hailstone Recreation Site can be found between Park City and Heber City – take exit 8 on US Highway 40. Here you will find a visitor center, two boat ramps, three group-use pavilions, 41 day-use cabanas, two laundromats, a beach house, marina store and restaurant, fish cleaning stations and an outdoor amphitheater. The site has three separate camping areas – Keetly Point Campground, McHenry Creek Campground and an RV Campground.
The Rock Cliff Recreation Site can be found just two miles west of Francis on SR-32. Here you will find a Nature Center, three modern rest rooms, two group pavilions and three campgrounds. From either Recreation Site, you can easily access the Jordanelle Reservoir, which provides excellent fishing.
Another feature is the Perimeter Trail that can be used by hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders and cross-country skiers. It is a non-motorized trail.
