Park City, Utah was founded as a mining town and has maintained much of its local character and historical assets. The main area of downtown Park City is a recognized historic district with original downtown stores still in place. This modern vacation destination has managed to keep it old west charm.

The area along Main Street in Park City, Utah is a thriving historic district complete with unique shops and galleries. The atmosphere along Main Street beckons visitors back to the days of saloons and boarding houses. Many of the old miner's homes are also still intact.

The City is continually restoring and renovating it historic areas and even new construction must adhere to strict rules and regulations concerting storefronts, height and the placement of the new structures. Park City's historical museum and downtown area is one of the major factors, which draw visitors to Park City.
