Alf Engen Ski Museum

If you are visiting the Utah Olympic Park near Park City, Utah, be sure to take the time to visit the Alf Engen Ski Museum, which is located inside the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center. Inside, you will find displays of Alf Engen's accomplishments in skiing and the contributions of many others who have significantly enriched and promoted the sport of skiing. The museum contains national and international medals, trophies and awards, skis and skiing equipment of the past.

With fourteen ski resorts, it is no wonder that the State of Utah was chosen as the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Today, many of the popular venues built to accommodate the Olympic Games are still in use.

A favorite attraction near Park City, Utah is the Alf Engen Ski Museum. Here, you can participate in a year-round, interactive museum concentrating on the sport of skiing. Included inside is a ten-minute film of the ski history of Utah. In addition, you will see displays concerning cross-country skiing and ski jumping. Many of the exhibits are interactive and you can participate in games of skill via the touch screen displays.

One of the most popular activities within the Alf Engen Ski Museum is the virtual reality ski theater. By visiting this particular area, you can hold onto ski poles and choose to take a virtual reality run down the Olympic downhill course at Snow Basin, Olympic slalom run at Deer Valley or a deep powder run at Alta. Another interactive game is based on running the slalom gates. The tour of the Museum can be educational and fun!
