Wasatch County

Wasatch County in Utah is home to the famous Heber Valley. Heber Valley is picturesque and filled with many opportunities for outdoor recreation as well as numerous attractions. Named for a Ute Indian word, "Wasatch" meant mountain pass or low place in the high mountains. This valley is in fact, a low place in the Wasatch Mountain range.

Wasatch County, Utah is home to the communities of Charleston, Daniel, Heber City, Midway, Timber Lakes and Wallsburg. Each of these communities has an interesting history and each has a western charm and hospitality all their own.

As the county seat and the largest city within Wasatch County, Heber City is often the destination for travelers who wish to visit the famous Heber Valley. Lying between the Uinta and Wasatch Mountains, Heber Valley and Wasatch County is a great destination year round for anyone who craves a little backcountry adventure.

Although the economy of Wasatch County is based primarily on agriculture, tourism is fast becoming a factor. Rural by nature, the communities of Wasatch County also offer easy access to the more urban, cultural center of Utah. Park City is only twenty miles from Heber City and Salt Lake City is only fifty miles away.
